BULK MATERIAL YARD SUPERVISOR

Express Employment Durban North is curently seeking for Supervisor with Bulk Material Yard experince to join a client based in Cato Ridge that specialise in a range of bulk commodity suppy chain services.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the operational processes for: Operational Administration requirements.
All Transport, including Tippers, tautliners and flat deck transporters.
Empty container dispatch/Turn-in within the free days.
Receiving and offloading SFS units.
Ensure all SOP activities are met.
Loading the shuttle truck.
Chair weekly meetings with operational staff.
Manage/Report on all staff absenteeism.
Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.
Effective timekeeping (Time and attendance) – ERS BIO
Ensure all staff adhere to PPE regulations.
Toolbox Talks with staff
Monitor Machine hours to ensure efficiency.
Maintain Equipment maintenance schedules.
Submit completed machine checklist to the Operations manager on a weekly basis.
Ensure equipment is always kept clean.
Approve and implement corrective action where necessary in relation to the following reports: Staff hours submitted to the Operations Manager timeously (including leave forms, sick notes) Equipment management – Pallets/Belt/Retches/Straps damages.
Ensure the SOP is adhered to.
Ensure all GRN/GDN and packing lists are completed per activity, per facility in accordance with the SOP.
Operational Planning for all facilities including the allocated staging areas.
Receive instructions from operations team.
Planning, assessment of workload.
Ensure all trucks are allocated to offload in the correct bay/stockpile.
All trucks must be swept prior to leaving the offloading area.
Ensure all equipment (Pallets/Belts/Straps/Ratchets/Tarps) are removed from the trucks.
All equipment (Belts) must be removed and stacked neatly in an allocated area.
Ensure minimal damages during the offloading process.
Ensure traffic management is controlled effectively.
Ensure productivity targets are met.
Equipment management – Belt rolling operations, Master equipment tracking report.
Ensure all SOP activities are met.
Loading of the shuttle truck, and ensure all equipment are recorded as per the SOP.
Report all operational issues/queries with the Operations Manager.
From time to time, you will be required to perform duties outside of your Job Description.
All belts must be rolled and recorded in accordance to the SOP.
All belts must be placed in the steel pallets and recorded in accordance with the SOP.
All steel pallets must be lashed in a safe manner.
All damaged belts must be separated and recorded in accordance with the SOP.
Belts/Pallets must be loaded onto the Shuttle truck and recorded in accordance with the SOP.
Ensure final inspection on the Shuttle truck is done to ensure the load is secure, and that all equipment is recorded on the Goods Dispatch Note (GDN) in accordance with the SOP.
Continuous sweeping and cleaning around stockpiles.
All cargo must be properly stockpiled/back stacked.
Each stockpile must have clearly marked stockpile boards.
Cargo must be separated, and the area between cargoes must always be kept clean.
All bays must be swept clean daily.
Separation barriers need to be placed where needed.
Equipment needs to be placed neatly in an allocated area (straps, ratchets, belts and tarps.
Tools to be handled with necessary care and caution.
Conveyor belts to be stacked neatly in allocated area.
Ensure all staff hours are submitted to the Operations Manager weekly.
Morning updates must be posted on the internal whatsapp group structure.
Photographic evidence must be sent daily of all cargo in the facilities.
Hoy updates on trucks in Port/offloaded must be updated on the internal whatsapp group structure.
Reporting of any operational issues, i.e. Breakdowns, congestion.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience in working with Bulk Materials is a must
