A large Insurance / Financial concern based in the Pretoria is urgently looking to appoint a competent Head of Control for Compliance
Qualifications & Experience Required
LLB or BCom Law or BA Law in Law
Postgraduate qualification in Compliance / Risk Management / Auditing preferred.
RE 1 qualification essential.
Registered as a Compliance Officer with the FSCA
5 years in a Senior Management Experience in compliance and/or risk management in a financial services environment
Minimum 5 years experience in compliance and/or risk management in a financial services environment
Duties
Lead and direct the development of compliance strategies and a compliance culture with the company
Develop a compliance policy and leads the assessment, monitoring and reporting of compliance risks, investigating incidents and taking appropriate action to ensure management, the Board and EXCO are provided with a suitable and proactive second line of defence for compliance.
Provide special attention for core compliance matters and market conduct matters.
Responsible for governance of the organisation, establishing control frameworks and service offerings, and responsible for ensuring that the company complies with the relevant laws, local regulatory requirements, and standards as applicable to the company.
Maintain contact with the relevant regulator as and when required and provides support and oversight on compliance matters
Contribute to short and long-term business planning, influences business strategy for the Group and closely monitors compliance and market conduct developments and standards.
