Location: Durban, KZN
Description: A company who supplies consumables and equipment to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies as well as various laboratories throughout Africa requires a Sales Representative for their core product portfolio (molecular biology portfolio, cell biology portfolio and small laboratory equipment and plastic consumables). The area covered is KwaZulu Natal. Key duties will include: achievement of the sales targets for the allocated territory through growth by agreed percentage and maintaining sales of promoted products in territory; monitoring sales of other products which are not actively promoted and reporting any deviations; manage sales territory and maximize the number of calls on target customers; building strong, positive relationships; maintain the level of product knowledge for existing products and develop knowledge on new products as well as the relevant details of promotional tools; control costs in carrying out of their job function, to ensure that allocated resources are effectively utilized; spend 5-6 hours daily at customer sites daily, with the balance of the time spent on planning, preparation and reporting activities.
Key Requirements: At least BSc Honours in Molecular Sciences. 2-3 years sales experience in a science or medical diagnostics environment essential. Experience with end point PCR, Real Time PCR and Nucleic Acid extraction essential. Familiarity with cell biology related applications such as western blotting and ELISA would be beneficial. Affinity for laboratory automation solutions. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is required.
