Minimum of 3 - 5 years or more commercial experience within an FMCG environment, particularly in cost accounting.
Must have completed or currently be studying towards a CIMA Qualification.
INTERNAL VACANCY COST ACCOUNTANT – JHB (ISANDO)
This role is responsible for managing the costing process for the Johannesburg plant, analysing manufacturing variances and other cost elements, preparation and updating costing information for value chains and providing insights to improve gross profit margins. This role will report into the Head of Strategic Finance and support the Chief Operations Officer with various Manufacturing projects.
Key Accountabilities and Outputs:
Provide strategic guidance and management and coaching to the Cost Accountant in East London
Ensure alignment and standardisation of manufacturing and cost management processes between all Johannesburg manufacturing units
Responsible to check and reconcile manufacturing variances and yields
Reconcile relevant cost of sales GL accounts in Evolution
Prepare detailed cost reports for manufacturing, identifying key overspends and variances and identifying opportunities of improvements
Review and recalculate overhead recovery rate on a quarterly basis and determine impact on existing stock
Load Bill Of Material information into Xperdyte and ensure BOM is ready for production use
Maintain recipes and BOMs accurately to minimise manufacturing variances in all Johannesburg manufacturing operations.
Review and recalculate raw material, finished goods and other base costs and determine impact to business by applying changes.
Custodian of Xperdyte manufacturing system, and integrity of Evolution Inventory master data, particularly accuracy of cost prices, overhead recoveries and other such costs in these systems.
Key Support of the “Value Chains” by SKU for Johannesburg and constantly look for opportunities to improve the Gross Margin of the business
