You will be responsible for all activities related to supplier and contractor management, cost management for all Adhoc purchases, factory and production support and ensuring that contractors are compliant with health and safety requirements. In addition to this you will regularly be assisting in identifying cost saving projects and improved service delivery projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supplier and Contractor Management
Source, qualify and record new suppliers & contractors.
Maintain qualified supplier contracts with regular meetings, site visits, costing analyses and risk analyses.
Manage supplier and contractor non-conformance.
Maintain records of suppliers in terms of contracts, qualification documents, cost analyses, risk analyses and NCR’s.
Maintain database of performance assessments, warranty terms & conditions for Adhoc parts and service providers.
Keep track of market trends and movements.
Perform alternative supplier costing comparisons.
Continuously improve volume-based purchasing.
Resolve invoice discrepancies daily
Factory & Production Support
Provide and manage database on prequalified products and services.
Provide list of prequalified suppliers & contractors.
Provide resource on new project development (e.g. new factory start-up).
Process Adhoc requests on Flowcentric.
Obtain quality, compliance and commercial approval of all procured parts, services and products.
Continuously engage with stake holders to ensure satisfactory service is being provided
Arrange harbour passes.
Track and follow up on all outstanding Adhoc outstanding orders.
Health & Safety
Complete documentation required by health and safety (EHS) for all procurement contractors.
Ensure all subcontractors visiting are aware of EHS requirements.
Maintain an accurate and up to date data base of all preferred compliant suppliers.
Meet with EHS to complete an inter departmental evaluation upon their request.
Regularly assist in identifying cost saving and improve service delivery projects.
Evaluate and action relevant projects.
Report on outcomes of projects to relevant Manager.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum: NQF Level 4 qualification Certificate in Purchasing.
Ideal: Supply Chain Management Qualification or related field.
Experience: At least 3- 5 years’ experience in procurement administration.
Relevant Knowledge of supply chain management operations.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
Commercially and financially aware with experience in budgets.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc).
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritize.
Ability to present organised and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience.
Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment.
Knowledge of boat building – Techniques and process would be advantageous.
Knowledge of technical measurements, procedures with the ability of assessing technical tenders.
Ability to write tender documents.
Ability to take full responsibility and accountability as per the scope of work.
Must be a diligent person with a high regard of mutual respect.
